An event involving the serial defilement and killing of a 9-year-old girl in Nairobi's Soweto neighborhood has prompted investigations.

As per Njeri wa Migwi, the founder of Usikimye organization, the girl's body was located in a bush not far from their residence. The minor's hands were bound from behind, according to the residents, and her blood-stained body was covered with a bed sheet.

Investigators believe she might have been murdered somewhere else and her body placed there. The girl was allegedly defiled before being strangled.

Sadly, the girl's mother had sent her to a neighboring store to get up some food, and she never returned. The family and locals launched a search for her as a result, but the next morning she was discovered dead.

Soweto's grieving citizens have denounced the occurrence and demanded that the police investigate it as soon as possible and hold those responsible accountable.

The police also asked locals who might know the attackers to come forward with them. More inquiries, according to detectives, will reveal what transpired and identify individuals responsible for the horrific deed.
