Following their apprehension along the Kisumu-Busia highway, three suspected drug traffickers are being held by police in Ugenya, Siaya County.
Wycliffe Owino, 24, Caleb Onyango, 30, and Faith Akinyi, 24, were taken into custody after they were discovered to have five liters of chang'aa and three packed sacks that appeared to be bhang.
Officers from the Bumala and Sega police stations collaborated to conduct a joint operation that resulted in the arrest of the suspects, according to Siaya County Police Commander Mr. Cleti Kimaiyo.
According to him, the police carried out the operation after receiving information from the general public that the suspects were prepared to deliver the drugs to Nairobi.
