Officers from the Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI) in Buuri West Sub-county, Meru County, are looking into allegations that a church facility is holding children under the legal age of eighteen.
Buuri West Police Commander James Musyimi reports that ten children, ages thirteen to sixteen, were discovered housed in the Timau facility.
When the facility refused entry to county public health officers who were on their way to give vaccinations in the area, the security agencies moved quickly.
According to OCPD Musyimi, the sub-county director of children's services, indulgence allowed the ten children to be saved.
