Businessman Nashon Otieno Angudha faces two criminal charges after being charged in court.

Angudha is accused of planning a scheme to deceive Surindah Singh out of over Ksh. Thirty-seven million was claimed, claiming that the funds were intended for the rental of a private jet, payment of taxes, and insurance for 300 kilograms of gold. 

The prosecution claims that the accused person knew it was untrue when they agreed that the gold would be shipped from Kenya to Dubai.

He is accused of committing the crime at the Runda Glory Valley estate in Nairobi County between July 13 and October 18, 2023.

A second count of receiving money under pretenses is against him. 


Angudha pleaded not guilty. His attorneys requested that the accused be released on bond and that his belongings, including a car seized upon his arrest, be returned. 

On Friday, the cash bail decision is expected to be made. 

The prosecution rejected an application to have him released on bail. 

Nashon was accused of forgery, indecently touching a woman, and using force to rob an Italian of Ksh. 13.5 million at a Kibera court last year. 

After entering a not-guilty plea, Ksh. 300,000 was given as bail.
