Two people were charged in court with breaking into and stealing from a store owned by the son of former Director of Criminal Investigations George Kinoti.

Luis Borura Nyawira Otieno and Stephen Wafula Okoni are accused of stealing Ksh.1.26 million items from a business on Biashara Street in Nairobi's Central Business District.

They reportedly broke into Anthony Mwendwa Kinoti's store on April 1, 2024.

According to the charge sheet, the stolen equipment comprised nine PlayStation 5s, two PlayStation 4s, twenty Play Station pads, and 35 game discs.

The accused pled not guilty before Magistrate Robinson Ondieki, who stated that he would decide on whether to release the suspects on bail on Friday.

The prosecution said additional time was required to create a list of the stolen items.

The complainant, through his lawyer, Danstan Omari, stated that they would oppose the accused's release on bond.
