In the Kikuyu Law Courts in Kiambu, a woman was arraigned on Wednesday for allegedly defrauding a businessman of Ksh.11 million through a fictitious land sale transaction deal.
Stella Kanyili, the Kikuyu Magistrate, arraigned Hannah Wanjiru Waithaka, the accused.
She was accused of obtaining Ksh. 11 million from James Muturi Kimani on March 1, 2024, with others who were not in court, with the intent to deceive, by pretending to be selling him a plot of land (Karai Gikambura 1048).
She denied the charges and was released on a bond of Ksh.1 million or Ksh.300,000 cash bail.
The magistrate directed the case to be mentioned on May 6, 2024, when the hearing date will be set.
