A family in Bondo is still in shock after their kin died while testifying in a land case at the Bondo Magistrate's Court.

Obonyo fainted about midday and was promptly taken to a private hospital by his family, where he died during treatment.

Mr. Cleti Kimaiyo, the Siaya County Police Commander, claimed that the event was first reported to the Bondo police station by Mr. Dick Ochiel, the Bondo law courts administrator.

Despite a follow-up at Bondo Sub-County Hospital, no records of Obonyo's treatment were uncovered.

An inquiry found that the family had transported Obonyo to Bama Hospital's Bondo branch.

After verifying his death, they reportedly returned the body home without filing a police complaint.Mr. Kimaiyo verified the incident but noted that the family had not filed an official case with the police.
