Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) detained a suspect in possession of Cannabis Sativa, believed to be worth Ksh.600,000.

Solomon Mutiirria, the suspect arrested on the Eastern Bypass, is detained at a Nairobi police station.

Mutiiria was arrested by detectives while on his way to the Kiaruguru district of Ruiru Sub-County. The drugs, which were stashed in a bag, were discovered during a check of his car.

"Following intelligence leads, the Anti-Narcotics detectives intercepted Solomon Mutuma Mutiiria who was heading to the Kiaruguru area within Ruiru Sub County and upon search of his vehicle managed to recover the said narcotics," said DCI

"The herb was concealed in a gunny bag in four bales and in a motor vehicle registered no. KCR 411F have been detained as exhibits pending the malefactor's arraignment." DCI added

The vehicle has subsequently been seized pending the suspect's arraignment.
