Peter Maina, the father of the two children who were murdered by their mother could not hold back tears during their burial in Kiandai village, Kirinyaga County.

"I'm a boda boda operator at Kagio town and I was shocked after I was told my wife had killed our only two children and was being held at Baricho police station," a distraught Maina said. 

Residents of Kiandai village were shocked on July 15 when Grace Wambui killed her two children, ages four and three, by plunging them into a marsh that had been formed after a contractor had harvested murram in the area.

The two boys were then thrown into the swamp. Pastor Paul Munene, a family friend who attended the funeral, disclosed that the couple had been experiencing domestic issues and that he had been providing them with counseling .
