Githurai Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) detectives have arrested a police officer from Kimbo Police Station on suspicion of murder after a 24-year-old man died from gunshot wounds on Sunday.
According to a report filed at Githurai Kimbo Police Station, the victim, John Mutembei, died while receiving treatment at Kenyatta University Teaching and Referral Hospital after being shot at the Goteana Bar in Githurai Kimbo.
The shooter is believed to be a police officer, though the circumstances surrounding the incident remain unclear.
DCI detectives responded to the scene and confirmed Mutembei’s death from gunshot injuries at the hospital.
His body has been transferred to the mortuary at the same facility, awaiting an autopsy.
