The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) detectives in Vihiga and Kakamega counties are investigating the alleged abduction of PAG General Presiding Superintendent Bishop Patrick Lihanda, who went missing on Saturday evening under mysterious circumstances.
Confirming the incident, Mumias Sub-county police commander Stephen Muoni said Bishop Lihanda left the Nyang'ori PAG headquarters around 4 p.m. on his way to a meeting in Mbale town, Vihiga County.
Police revealed that shortly afterward, he sent a distressing SMS to his driver, claiming his life was in danger.
According to Muoni, the driver's attempts to contact him were unsuccessful, as the bishop’s phone was switched off moments later.
Additionally, the police commander stated that the driver reported the matter to the Mbale Police Station, prompting swift action from DCI officers who tracked the phone's location to Mayoni.
