Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) have discovered a body believed to be that of the missing taxi driver who went missing after accepting a ride from Mombasa to Samburu.

The discovery was made at the Nairobi City Mortuary following an intense interrogation of Edwin Ng’etich, a suspect found in possession of Muloki's stolen vehicle.

According to investigators, Victoria Mumbua Muloki's body was initially discovered in a thicket near a road in Mai Mahiu, Lari, Kiambu County. The body was recovered by authorities and booked as unidentified at the City Mortuary on September 29, 2024.

Detectives from the Criminal Intelligence and Research Bureau played a crucial role in uncovering the body, thanks to the profiling of Ng’etich, who had been arrested in Nakuru while driving Muloki's vehicle.

After intensive questioning, Ng’etich reportedly led investigators to the site where he had dumped the body.

Muloki's family, based in Mombasa, has been informed and is set to travel to Nairobi for further identification, including DNA testing. Police are also planning a postmortem to determine the cause of death.

Further investigations have revealed that Ng’etich has a history of committing similar crimes. Muloki, a Mombasa-based taxi driver, had been missing since Friday, September 27, after accepting a ride request from Mombasa to Samburu.
