The mutilated body of Wells Fargo HR Manager Willis Ayieko was discovered dumped at the Mungowere stream in Siaya County on Wednesday, and police are attempting to piece together his final movements.
Ayieko was last seen at a funeral in Nyaminia village in Siaya, according to logs obtained by Citizen TV. His relatives think he was kidnapped at around 10 p.m. on Friday, October 21, and then tortured and murdered.
Later, his captors would dispose of his body at the boundary between the counties of Siaya and Kakamega.
His body was discovered with upper body bruises and facial features carved out, indicating that he had been dragged prior to his murder.

"Who wanted my brother dead so much that he'd hire someone to kill him in this manner? My brother died a painful death," Aggrey Onyango, Ayieko's brother, said.
On Wednesday, a student discovered the deceased's decaying body lying face down at Yala's Mungowere stream. He had his hands bound behind his back.
Ayieko's vehicle was discovered abandoned at a center in Sabatia, Kakamega County, on Tuesday, a few kilometers away. According to his family, his pistol, which held 14 rounds of ammunition, was gone, but the car was undamaged and bloodless.
The 55-year-old was a licensed gun owner, according to police.
Ayieko drove 13 kilometers to Nyabeda center on Friday after leaving Nyamninia at approximately 10:15 PM, according to logs viewed by Citizen TV.
Detectives think the car, which most likely contained Ayieko and his kidnappers, was traveling between the Regea, Nyamninia, and Muhanda centers after an hour or so.
After that, it traveled to Dudi Center, where it stayed motionless on Saturday from 11:57 PM to 3:44 AM. After that, the vehicle drove back to Regea and paused there for eight minutes. This was the last time his phone was traced, according to the police.
The car is seen being driven toward Kakamega in CCTV footage that Citizen TV was able to obtain. The car was observed veering off course at Sabatia Center at 6:04 AM on Saturday, where it was eventually abandoned.
The family of the deceased is now demanding that the murder be thoroughly investigated.
"His remains will be transferred to Lee Funeral Home. As investigations continue, we will provide more details," Onyango stated.
In light of the recent string of killings, Ayieko's passing has sparked concerns about Kenyans' safety.
