Police in Chemelil, Muhoroni Sub-County, Kisumu County, have arrested a man accused of fatally attacking his wife with a panga during a domestic altercation.
The tragic incident occurred in Pawteng’s village, Awasi, where the victim, identified as Christine Akinyi, was found lying in a pool of blood inside their home.
According to a police report, the couple’s 17-year-old daughter revealed that her mother had stepped outside to take a phone call when a heated argument broke out.

Authorities stated that the suspect, identified as Paul Waore Okello, inflicted severe injuries on the victim, including deep cuts to her head, hands, and legs, resulting in her death from excessive bleeding.
The suspect reportedly attempted to take his own life but failed. He was later arrested and is currently in custody at Chemelil Police Station as investigations continue.
