An 18-year-old is undergoing treatment at Migori Level Four Hospital following an alleged assault by her boyfriend, a bodaboda rider, in Suna East, Migori County.
The suspect, identified as David Odhiambo, reportedly attacked the student, Whitney, and is currently on the run.
According to Ngege Sub-location Assistant Chief Celine Anyango, police have initiated a manhunt for Odhiambo and remain optimistic about his capture.
The exact circumstances surrounding the attack are yet to be established. However, some locals speculate that the incident may have stemmed from Whitney’s attempt to end her relationship with the suspect.
Assistant Chief Anyango emphasized that further investigation will rely on insights from the survivor to uncover the true motive behind the assault.
