A woman in Nairobi has died after a violent assault by her 27-year-old husband at their home in Embakasi.
Teresa Kemunto Wambui succumbed to her injuries several days after the attack, which reportedly occurred during a heated argument with her partner, Oscar Oundo. The altercation is said to have started after Oundo accused Kemunto of infidelity upon reading messages on her WhatsApp.
In a fit of rage, Oundo reportedly struck Kemunto with a blunt object, causing severe injuries. Despite her condition, she managed to report the assault at Soweto Police Station.

As her health worsened hours later, Kemunto called her brother for help. Upon arriving, he confronted Oundo and insisted that he take her to the hospital. She was eventually admitted to Mama Lucy Kibaki Hospital, where she passed away two days later.
Oundo has since been arrested and is currently being held at Soweto Police Station as investigations continue. Meanwhile, the grieving family is calling on the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), human rights organizations, and the government to ensure justice is served.
