Investigators in langata are investigating an incident where a police officer shot dead two women before turning the gun on himself.

The two victims of the shooting include the officer's wife and the colleague's spouse. The officer shot his colleague's spouse twice after leaving work to pick something up from his house.

 In a police report filed at the Langata Police Station, the incident happened at 9; am on Sunday when The officer locked himself inside his residence before gunning down his 28-year-old girlfriend seven times.

Police officers at the scene noted that The officer died due to a self-inflicted bullet wound to the back of his neck from the front and exited from the back. An eyewitness who spoke to local media after the shooting said that the suspect had recently appeared troubled; however, it is unknown what prompted the shooting.

Monica Kimani, the Langata sub-county police chief, visited the scene but declined to comment on the tragic accident. The bodies of the deceased have been moved to the city mortuary while further investigations are conducted.

In other news, an armed robber was shot dead in githurai 44. In the dramatic incident that resulted in a police chase, the gangster was shot dead while attempting to flee the scene on a motorcycle while his accomplice escaped.

According to a statement released on Saturday by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), the incident is being recorded on CCTV. It showed the attacker ambushing a man outside his gate after packing his car while his accomplice waited far away on a motorcycle.

The thug emerged from a row of dark vibandaskis opposite the gate and trained his handgun at the unfortunate man's jugular as soon as the man had stopped his car and gotten out to unlock the gate, according to DCI.
