On Tuesday, two suspects were apprehended, and 1,000 litres of purported ethanol were seized along Nairobi's Waiyaki Way.
Police are still trying to outline where the ethanol was being delivered after acting on tips from the public.
Moss Ndiwa, the Kilimani sub-county Police Commander, speculated that the ethanol could have come from a neighbouring country.
The shipment was being transported in a Toyota Fielder automobile loaded with forty 25-litre jerrycans when police pulled it over and arrested the two suspects.
The two were brought to the Kilimani authorities Station as authorities conducted an investigation.
