In Mikinduri town, Meru County, a 28-year-old male is being held for reportedly sodomizing underage boys.

James Baariu Rungai, the defendant, was allegedly caught red-handed sodomizing a 16-year-old boy whom he reportedly threatened and imprisoned inside his residence for three days without food.

Anjuki local leader Jacob Michuki Mutiga, who came to the boy's help with Nyumba Kumi members, said the suspect had been sodomizing him and locked him in the house with a padlock from the outside without food or drink.

Mr Mutiga revealed that on the day of the rescue, they invaded the suspect's house and smashed down the door based on a tip from the public.

He noticed that the dad was sweating when they entered the house, and the youngster was naked.

According to the administrator, the youngster told the police that the suspect tempted him by promising him food because he lives with his mother in the Mikinduri slums and frequently sleeps hungry.

When the child arrived at the suspect's house, he locked the door, got a machete, and ordered him to undress, threatening to hack him up and throw his body in a restroom if he raised an alert.

Since then, Mikinduri police officials have asked all victims and their parents to register their statements with the local Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) office so that the suspect might be charged in court for his crimes.
