On Tuesday, residents of Gombe village in Siaya county have been left in shock after a 10-year-old boy died after being attacked by 12 unmanaged canines. The ten-year-old boy was in the company of his friend who around the same age as him.

The boy had gone to play in his neighbor’s compound to play when the other minor decided to release the dog for a quick breather. The dogs were left un attended why they say the young man and decided to feast on him.

His friend could not do anything to help since the dogs were many and overpowered his strength, so he watched in horror as the dogs killed the little man. In fear of what had happened the boy run away from the scene and went to seek his parent.

After a short while the parents of the young boy who had been killed noticed the boy had been missing for a while so they went looking for him only to find his lifeless body on pool of blood beside a stream.

Confirming the incident, the assistant chief of West Migwema Bernad Nyerere said proper investigations will be done to investigate what really happened the led to the death of the minor.

He also advised those rearing dogs to ensure that they properly lock up the canines to avoid similar incidents in future.

The body of the young boy has been moved to Bondo sub-county hospital mortuary as the family is preparing to lay the his body to rest.
