Tom Osinde, a former employee of the National Treasury, had his body thrown in the River Kuja in Migori County when it was discovered. His family members positively recognized the body on Thursday morning. More than ten days after Mr Osinde was reported missing, his body was found.

Brother Mr Nemwel Osinde, who is living in the United States, confirmed Mr Osinde's news, which is still cloaked in mystery, in a Facebook post.

"I want to thank all my friends for their love, prayers, and support during my brother's hunt. Unfortunately, the result isn't what we expected. Tom was killed, and his body was discovered in the county of Migori. Please keep us in your prayers as we work to reconcile, said Mr Nemwel Osinde.

The deceased was a sibling of the late Ken Osinde, the Chief of Staff in President William Ruto's administration when he was the Deputy President. Between 2010 and 2014, Mr Ken Osinde was also Kenya's ambassador to Germany.

According to a detective with knowledge of the current inquiries, they believe one of the late Tom Osinde's employees dumped his body in River Gucha in Kisii County.

Two employees were taken into custody on Wednesday night when DCI investigators visited Mr Osinde's Ngata Farm, Nakuru County residence.

The primary suspect in the murder probe, according to the police, is Mr Julius Mogoi, who was observed driving the deceased's automobile outside of his residence in Nyakio, South Mugirango, Kisii County.

The investigators also spent more than four hours searching the 10-acre farm's house and questioning its residents.

"We have thoroughly searched a portion of the sizable 10-acre land where Mr Mokaya's home is. Seven acres or so were traversed. According to Donatta Atieno, the Rongai Sub-County criminal investigations officer, this is a component of the investigation into the disappearance of the former Treasury official.

On June 18, 2023, Mr Osinde's family reported him missing and posted the news on numerous social media sites.

His black Toyota Land Cruiser V8 was discovered abandoned in Transmara West Sub-County in Narok two days after he vanished. After then, the car was transported to the Transmara Police Station, where it is now parked.
