A man has left Kenyans in court laughing after he requested the magistrate to send him to jail and provide him with a lot of food.

During an appearance before the magistrate on a case where he wanted to commit suicide by jumping into the ocean, the man who hails from Kitengela said that he lives alone and has no one to depend on. he said that his wife left him a long time ago and that he is struggling. he said that instead of him being arrested after that suicide attempt, he was released by the OCS.


He informed the judge that he used to have money but has been going through a hard time recently so he requested the courts to send him to jail and provide him with him. he added that he is willing to help the prison wardens in their work too.

In other news, six women from Kericho are seeking justice after they were assaulted by Kenya Forest Service (KFS) officers stationed at Soget forest station when they allegedly failed to pay a weekly Ksh300 'fee' to gather firewood from the forest.

Sharon Chebet said that as a result of not paying the charge, she shattered her left hand.

Another victim, Joan Langat, claimed that despite reporting the event to the Londiani Police Station, nothing was done.

Fred Mirambo, the KFS officer in charge of the Soget forest station, responded when contacted for comment by saying an investigation had been opened into the event.
