Police officers in migori are investigating the suicide of a Form three student at Bande Girls Secondary School.
Winnie Malemba, the area chief, confirmed the case. According to a police incident report, the incident happened after the 15-year-old girl sneaked out of a church service that she attended with her classmates and other classmates on the school grounds. She was later found dead inside her classroom.
According to the report, the student left a note claiming that she chose to commit herself due to harassment from one of the school's prefects.
