Ghanaian beverage manufacturer Kasapreko Company Limited has entered the East Africa market with Alomo Bitters and Alomo Gold flagship brands.

Other brands include Kasapreko London Dry Gin, Black Rock Whisky, Carnival Strawberry, and Kalahari Bitters.

Its entry is through Canary International Trading Company Limited, a Canary Group of Companies subsidiary that distributes food and beverage products.

Speaking during the launch, Ghana High Commission in Nairobi, Patrick Masope-Crabbe, said that the firm will focus on a business-to-business (B2B) model to ensure that the Kasapreko products spread rapidly into the market to reach consumers.

Masope said they will partner with as many alcohol distributors and outlets as possible.

On his part, the International Business Development Director at Kasapreko Company Limited, Francis Holly Adzah, urged Kenyans and the East African community to explore Ghanaian heritage through its diverse range of beverages.

He noted that Kasapreko has leveraged research and development and the latest technology with local and traditional recipes in production.

“Kasapreko stands as a beacon of quality, innovation, and heritage, boasting a state-of-the-art production facility, global export reach, and an iconic flagship product, Alomo Bitters,” he said.

The word Alomo comes from Ghana’s native dialect, used to refer to ‘my lover’ or ‘intimate friend’.

Alomo is famous not only in Ghana but also in Nigeria, Togo, Ivory Coast, South Africa, and Burkina Faso.

Canary International is present in West Africa, East Africa, and the United Arab Emirates.

 It has been trading food products such as Ketepa Tea brands, Chocolate Cadbury, and ONGA, among many others.

Kaspreko was started in 1989 by Kwabena Adjei, a Ghanaian businessman at Nungua in the Greater Accra Region of Ghana, to provide quality and affordable drinks to Ghanaians.

Kasapreko has adopted a niche in producing herbal-based alcoholic produce sourced locally.
