A 28-year-old lady has been taken into custody by police after her husband was allegedly killed at their house in Kuria West, Migori County.

James Omahe, 32, was shot dead by three armed assailants while trying to enter his wife Celestine Ghati's home in Masangora, according to Kuria West Sub-county Police Commander Reuben Bett. Ghati is the main suspect in his death.

The woman, who is being held at Kehancha Police Station, has been connected to the killing, according to preliminary findings, the police chief said, adding that investigations into the incident are still underway.

Mr. Bett claims the attackers had a gun and other primitive weapons near the deceased's farm.

The woman will soon be put on trial.
