Milimani Law Court has charged an employee of the Family Bank for stealing Kes 66.91 million from the lender.

The accused, Elias Kinyua Njue, is said to have stolen the amount as an employee.

However, the accused denied the charge and was released on a cash bail of Kes 1 million with an alternative bond of 5 million shillings while appearing before Milimani Court senior principal magistrate Ben Mark Ikhubi.

According to the prosecution, the accused is said to have committed the offense on August 3, 2023.

The trial magistrate directed the prosecution to supply all documentary evidence to the accused and set the matter for mention on November 2 for pre-trial.
