Police in Kericho's Londiani sub-county are investigating an incident in which a Form Four girl was allegedly assaulted by a school administrator and suffered injuries to her face and neck.
The youngster was allegedly penalized after an incident with a classmate on Monday at Sacred Hill Girls' Secondary School in Londiani.
According to a medical report from a private hospital in Nakuru, where she was treated and released on Tuesday, she suffered head and neck injuries and bruises on her face.

Her mother returned her to school when she was released from the hospital, seeking answers as to why her kid had been penalized and suspended.
She alleges, however, that the school's administration called the police on her for causing a disturbance in the school compound.
The Londiani sub-county police arrested and temporarily held her and her daughter.
"We were able to dispatch police officers and they found the woman was shouting all over and for us to save the situation, the woman and the daughter and the principal were brought to the station."OCPD Gloria Kunga said
While conceding that the school sent the student home without alerting the parents, Sub-county Director of Education Evans Ogamba disputed charges of detrimental punishment against the student.
The student was allegedly beaten after an argument with a classmate.
"I have asked the Principal if the girl was punished and the answer she gave is that the student was not beaten...but we are investigating that and action will be taken," stated Mr. Ogamba.
The girl's mother, who has now given police a statement, has demanded justice for her daughter.
With only a few weeks until the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) starts, the woman wants the situation resolved quickly so that her daughter has enough time to study.
