Crocs, miniskirts, slippers, and torn jeans are prohibited at Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology (MMUST).
The University's Dean of Students, Bernardatte Abwao, also mentioned that unapproved clothing includes plastic shoes, turbo-cuts, skin-tight pants, and transparent gowns in an internal memo dated October 11, 2023.
"As students, you are expected to dress decently, in modest and appropriate attires. Please note these are not official wares and should not be worn at the University," Abwao said.
The students were also advised not to wear sleeveless t-shirts, low-cut blouses, or clothing that revealed their bra straps in the memo.

Abwao also commended the students who present themselves well when attending classes at the University.
However, the dean of students stated, "We have seen and noted with concern the indecent dressing by some of you."
