Prominent Kenyan socialite Vera Sidika has expressed her dismay and frustration on her Instagram page regarding the notable absence of local celebrities at the funeral of her close friend, Aziza Frisby, who tragically passed away in Tanzania.

Aziza Frisby, a well-known figure in the East African social scene, passed away suddenly, leaving her friends and associates in deep shock and sorrow.

Although numerous local celebrities took to social media to mourn Aziza, Vera Sidika voiced her disappointment with what she labeled as "fake friends." These individuals offered their condolences online, yet failed to make the effort to attend the funeral in person.

Vera Sidika, a mother of two currently residing in the United States, utilized her Instagram story to share a sequence of posts. In these posts, she compared flight durations and travel times from various locations to Dar es Salaam, where Aziza was laid to rest.

She expressed her sorrow over the fact that certain individuals who professed to be close to Aziza did not take the relatively short journey to bid their final farewells.

In one of her posts, Vera wrote:

“So none of you would take a one hour and 30 minutes flight from Nairobi to Dar to pay your last respect to a person you called a friend. Knowing how Islamic customs prioritize quick burials? This is why I say this world is filled with so many fake friends. It literally takes about 24 hours to fly from the USA to Kenya; everything happened so fast, I cannot believe it. Your sister did not even get to see you. I’m so heartbroken right now.”

Vera Sidika was one of the celebrities who shared the news of Aziza Frisby's passing with social media users, offering her sincere condolences and heartfelt tributes to the late socialite.

She continued her Instagram story, saying:

“The world is full of surprises. In fact, Arusha is too close to Nairobi; you can literally drive there in four hours, and yet some friends could not go to see my baby Janet get laid to rest. My heart is bleeding.”

The non-attendance of certain local celebrities at Aziza Frisby's funeral has ignited a discussion on social media, with fans and followers sharing a range of opinions on the topic. Azizah had collaborated with numerous Kenyan celebrities during her time.
