On Wednesday, October 18, traders who ran mayai smokie companies suffered significant losses when Kanjo came and seized their carts.

As the vendors loaded their cart onto a lorry and transported it away, the county askari hounded them.

Soon after, there was a public uproar, and Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja eventually intervened via HSI representatives.

Sakaja is in Paris right now, attending some meetings.

One trader, a woman named Quinter Adhiambo, was among those affected who stood out. Eric was spotted helping her get back her trolley.

"Call her tomorrow (Thursday) morning. You are my friend. Give her five million shillings You have it, you can change her life. Help her; her dad is sick; he doesn't have a job, even her sibling is in Kissii University bwana Sakaja. It takes one life to change a life."

Eric urged the County boss;

"This is an opportunity that God is giving you. change just one life. Just change her life and I will call you tomorrow (Thursday)."

Omondi also called out on County Askaris, who handle Nairobi residents inhumanely as they do their business.

"Use common sense, economy ni mbaya, people are struggling," he shares their pain.

Sh10,000 has been given to each trader by Governor Sakaja. He expressed his sincere regret for the action his askaris had taken.

"The happenings in the CBD earlier today were most unfortunate. This is not the way to treat Nairobians as we have continually implored our officers to treat Nairobians with Dignity. We have had cordial relations with informal traders for a year but lately, there have been unfortunate incidences that seek to sabotage that."

I am adding that the matter will be dealt with.

"We will take disciplinary action. I have ordered the immediate release of all confiscated items, apologized to the traders, and personally compensated each of them to the tune of 10,000 shillings each. Even if the traders were operating without the required documentation, including a Medical Certificate from Public Health that every food handler must-have for the safety of Nairobians, they did not deserve such treatment and we are dealing with this internally. Poleni sana."
