At the 2023 Mobile App Awards, Citizen Digital was named the Best News and Information App and the Best Mobile App of the Year on Thursday.

The Royal Media Services (RMS) subsidiary Citizen Digital received the awards during a formal ceremony and gala dinner at Nairobi's Sarova Panafric Hotel.

People in the mobile industry had a great chance to network, celebrate their successes, and connect at this event.


Viusasa, another digital product from RMS, was honored as the Best Video on Demand App at the event, which featured 30 award categories in total.

Among the categories were the Best Social Networking App, Best Educational App, Best Health and Wellness App, Best Gaming App, and Best Online Marketplace App.  

The last day to submit an award nomination was October 6. The final shortlist of nominees was released on October 19.

The public voting phase opened on October 20 and ended on November 5, 2023.
