Following the death of his mother, Benson Mutua, also known as Bensoul, a signee of the Sol generation, is in mourning.

At a live performance, the singer broke the heartbreaking news to his fans—his mother Suzanna had passed away the previous week.

He sang one of his songs to her during the performance. He asked the crowd to honor his late mother with him, but he did so with a heavy heart. He asked the audience to sing Suzanna with great intensity.

"Rest in peace to my mama. She left us last week. Time to celebrate her. Her name is Suzanna. So you will sing Suzanna with passion. Isn't it?" Bensoul said.

Bensoul stated in a previous interview with The Trend that he could tell his songs were hits if his mother told him.

"I never talk to her about them or send her a link, if she finds out I have a new song out and its amazing, thats how I know that that was an amazing song."

On the reality series "Sol Family" on Sol Generations, Mama Bensoul debuted. She mentioned Bensoul's tuberculosis infection at one point.

Bensoul talked candidly about his family in an earlier interview on the Sol Generations YouTube channel. He disclosed that his father had attempted to dissuade him from pursuing music and had eventually left them because they had refused to convert to a different religion.

Bensoul's mother claims that their child's love of music led to a great deal of stress between her and her husband, culminating in his eventual departure. "My husband wanted me to convert to Islam, so he left us." He threatened to cut them off from him if they did not become Muslims. She claimed that Ben Sol's music education was a struggle between his father and me.

May her soul rest in peace, and my condolences go out to her family.
