Tanzanian gospel singer Rose Muhando has responded to grave allegations that portray her as a con artist for failing to fulfill her crusades commitment, for which she was purportedly paid Ksh.200,000.

Taking to her Instagram page, the gospel singer strongly denied the accusations after Kenyans urged her to confirm or deny the claims.

"@ellydavid1 Whoever is complaining that he was not paid for his money should come here with evidence, truly once you become famous you will come across everything, and if I would have joined and said that who and who oppressed me would pity me, congratulations to you for your good songs"

She also reacted to another fan

"@galinacarolina sio kweli mpnz, waende kwenye vyombo vya sheria"

A third comment from Muhando read

"@ingabireclarissa we unaushahidi gani kwamba nakula ela ya watu, wamekupatia evidence, hakuna mtu ataliwa pesa zake asiende kwa sheria, Usipende kusikiliza maneno ya uongo, watu wanapenda sana mitandao hivyo kuwa makini sana"

In her post, Muhando recognized the challenges confronted by public figures and advised against easily believing everything heard about someone.

She stressed her commitment to ongoing activities in Nairobi and suggested that any claims should be addressed through proper legal channels. Muhando also highlighted the infrequency of musicians openly discussing the challenges they encounter in their profession, acknowledging that they, too, experience persecution.

“When you are a public figure, many things will come your way, and you will be accused of many things. Do not easily believe everything you hear about someone.

In summary, I am currently in Nairobi, engaging in my scheduled activities. If there are any allegations, there are proper legal channels to address them. Musicians, like ourselves, rarely come forward publicly to discuss the challenges we encounter in our line of work.

"We, too, face persecution, and a significant percentage of us work closely with religious leaders. Therefore, if we are persecuted, it means we are persecuted by these religious leaders, but we do not complain. Now, I would like to stop here for what is ongoing," adde Muhando.

The controversy erupted on December 4 when gospel singer Ali Mukhwana accused Muhando of misleading him and allegedly swindling him out of KSh 200,000.

Mukhwana, one of the organizers of a crusade where Muhando was slated to perform, asserted that she received the payment but did not show up at the event.

According to Mukhwana, there was an agreement with Muhando for her to be a guest artist at the crusade, and she requested a fee of Sh200,000.

However, he later came across posters featuring Muhando, indicating her commitment to attend five other crusades on the same date.

Upon confronting Muhando, he alleged that she lied, asserting that the other posters were fake and that she had only committed to his crusade.

Mukhwana further claimed that pastors from other churches confirmed they had paid Muhando, and she had assured them of her attendance.

Expressing his disappointment in Muhando, Mukhwana cautioned others against inviting her to their events, asserting that she was dishonest.

On the day of the planned crusade, Muhando allegedly failed to appear, citing illness when questioned about her absence.
