Kenyans effectively advocated for the Shusha Nyavu hitmaker Christina Shusho to perform in the country a plea that Christina addressed assuring Kenyans of a performance on 31st December. However, the event has taken an unexpected turn into a comedy show under the hosting of Churchill.

Originally slated to perform on the sidelines of a New Year's Eve (NYE) comedy show, Shusho's presence left fans disappointed as they were anticipating a praise and worship concert.

Taking to his Instagram account, Churchill interacted with netizens, seeking suggestions for their preferred NYE event this year. Many are advocating for a comprehensive gospel concert featuring Christina Shusho as the headline performer.

Many Kenyans, including content creator Purity Vishenwa, also known as Pritty Vishy, swiftly voiced their frustrations upon learning that gospel singer Christina Shusho's upcoming gig had been transformed into a comedy show instead of a full-blown gospel performance.

Vishy expressed strong dissatisfaction, stating that Shusho had undervalued herself by agreeing to be featured alongside comedians for the New Year's Eve (NYE) event.

She expressed the opinion that fans were anticipating a concert where Christina Shusho would be the main act, rather than just a performer on the sidelines.

“This is just my view of Shusho coming gig… sasa WaKenya wamelia wanataka Shusho then mwito ikakubaliwa… tell me why anakuja Churchchill. It’s not bad but yooh Kenyans wanted conert si kuchekeshwa then waimbiwe 10 minutes. On behalf ya wenye ilikuwa atatwende tumeshangaa sana,” she wrote.

Christina Shusho is scheduled to perform in Kenya after an online appeal from her fans in the country urged her to hold a concert in the 254.

Numerous Kenyans, including celebrities like Robert Burale, initiated an online plea to implore Christina Shusho to respond to the requests of her fans in Kenya.

The Tanzanian gospel singer eventually conveyed to her Kenyan fans that she had heard their pleas and was collaborating with Churchill to organize a show in Kenya.

“Due to increasing demands for a concert in Kenya my team and I are working with @MwalimChurchill to have a concert on the 31st December 2023,” Christina Shusho announced on November 27, 2023.

A few hours after making the announcement, Christina Shusho officially confirmed her upcoming show in Kenya.

The Tanzanian singer disclosed that she is set to perform in Kenya on the night of December 30, 2023, to welcome in the new year 2024.

“Ahsanteni kwa upendo. Ntafika Nairobi for overnight 31.12.2023 cc @MwalimChurchill @NRGRadioKenya,” Christina Shusho wrote.

Christina Shusho later on faced a backlash from Kenyans who petitioned her to perform in the country after she invited First Lady Mama Rachel Ruto to her concert.
