The renowned prophet from Bungoma County, Yesu Wa Tongaren, has made a startling proclamation, stating that the world will come to an end in 2058. He further claims that both the former Prime Minister, Hon Raila Odinga, also known as "baba," and himself will ascend to heaven at that time.
“Dunia itaisha 2058,mimi na baba tutalichukua kanisa.Hukumu inakuja.
Last year, Eliud Wekesa, known as the self-proclaimed 'Yesu Wa Tongaren,' rejected a group's demand for his crucifixion on Good Friday, asserting that his appointed time had not yet come.
Addressing the crowd in his hometown of Kakamega, Wekesa opposed the calls to crucify him like Jesus in the Bible, emphasizing that, according to his beliefs, the Easter holiday is still slated for July, not April.
He clarified that the current period observed globally by Christians as a commemoration of Jesus' death and resurrection does not align with the same timeline as the Jewish calendar in the Gregorian calendar system.
Hiyo ndiyo Pasaka ya Mwalimu Yesu” he said.
Nimewaonya wafuasi wangu kulingana na hii Pasaka (The Word says we should be cautious to avoid copying Western cultures; I have cautioned my followers regarding this Easter." he added
Wekesa made these remarks when several individuals arrived at his home with a wooden cross and nails, intending to crucify him. He asserted that he was compelled to employ teachings from the Bible to rebuke and denounce them for what he deemed as blasphemy.
he added “Ata niliona mtu mmoja wa Kiislamu amebeba misumari akakuja nayo hapa; ikabidi nimwambie, ndugu mtu hafanyiwi dhiaka, chochote utapanda ndicho utavuna.”
At the same time, while referencing Biblical teachings on Noah and the floods, Wekesa warned anyone who questioned his legitimacy, comparing them to those in the Bible who ridiculed Noah before being devastated by floods.
