Rita Tinina, a seasoned TV journalist who passed away last Sunday, will be laid to rest on March 27 on a Wednesday, at her family's Noosupeni Farm Olokirikirai, Narok County.

Before her scheduled burial, there will be a requiem mass for the deceased on Monday, March 25, at the Holy Family Basilica.

"Funeral arrangement meetings are being held at the All Saint's Cathedral from 5.30pm, Requiem Mass will be held at Holy Family Basilica on March 25 2024 from 10.00am," the obituary begins.

"The cortege leaves Umash Funeral Home Nakuru on March 27 2024 at 7.00am for the funeral Service and burial at their home, Noosupeni Farm Olokirikirai, Narok County starting at 10.00am."


Rita has moved on, leaving behind her partner, Robert Nagila, and daughter, Mia Malaikah.

"She was the cherished child of the late Mary Yiapan and Dominic Yiapan. Devoted partner of Robert Nagila and mother of Mia Malaikah, according to the obituary.

"She shone a limitless amount of love and affection on her nephew Shaqiri and grand niece Skylar. Rita was a niece, cousin, friend, coworker, and journalist who touched many people's lives with her warmth and kindness."

She passed away on Tuesday from severe pneumonia, according to a postmortem that was performed on her.

Family pathologist Dr. Michaka and government pathologist Peter Ndegwa conducted the postmortem, according to family spokesman Timothy Njaga.


The family of the deceased expressed satisfaction with the outcome and requested privacy to grieve Rita.

On March 17, 2024, the scribe—an Output Producer for Broadcast platforms at the Nation Media Group—was discovered unconscious in her Kileleshwa home.

Rita, 46, was supposed to be fine the day before, but she did not show up for work on Sunday.
