Amidst swirling uncertainty, reports have emerged concerning the well-being of Nollywood actor Junior Pope Odonwodo, popularly known as Jnr Pope, following his purported involvement in a boat accident.

Speculation spread rapidly across various Nigerian media outlets on Wednesday, suggesting that the actor had tragically drowned during a filming session on the River Niger.

After initial unconfirmed reports of his demise, conflicting information surfaced online. Emeka Rollas, the national president of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), issued a late announcement on Wednesday stating that the actor was under medical care and responding positively to treatment.

"What God cannot do does not exist. Junior Pope is alive. He is taking treatment in the hospital," he posted on Instagram.

Following the tragic incident, further confusion ensued when Emeka Rollas deleted the post just 30 minutes later, adding to the uncertainty surrounding Junior Pope's condition.

Hours prior to the accident, Junior Pope shared a video aboard a boat, pleading with the captain to exercise caution as they navigated the waters.

"See me lamenting……The risk we take to entertain you; crossing river 9ja yesterday with no life jacket…… Na wahoooooo …. Who does that ??," Jnr Pope captioned the video.

In the video in question, he could be heard warning the man in control of his boat to please take it easy moments before his boat allegedly capsized.

“I have 3 kids na me go raise them, Na only me my mama born oh… “Make una see di risk wey we dey take to entertain una. I dey River Niger, I dey beg di captain say I be di only pikin for my family and I get three pikin wey I go raise,” he said in part.
