Former football star O.J Simpson has died at 76 after a battle with cancer.

Simpson was accused and then convicted of the gruesome 1994 murders of his ex-wife and her friend.

"On April 10th, our father, Orenthal James Simpson, succumbed to his battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his children and grandchildren. During this time of transition, his family asks that you please respect their wishes for privacy and grace," his family said.

Simpson shared a video on X in 2023 announcing that he had been diagnosed with cancer and had to go through chemo. He went on, "It looks like I beat it." Simpson did not reveal the type of the cancer.

Then, in February 2024, a Las Vegas news station stated that Simpson, 76, was once again receiving treatment for an undisclosed malignancy. Simpson himself released a video on X that day, dismissing rumors that he was in hospice care, although he did not confirm or refute other stories about his illness.
