Next month, the singer will be honored for her decades-long career.

Usher is one of the musicians most obviously deserving of a lifetime achievement award. For more than 20 years, he has been a prolific hit songwriter, and it appears he will continue to grow.

A year ago, he collaborated with Summer Walker and 21 Savage on the hit song "Good Good." He received four nominations for this year's BET Awards for that song and his recently released album, which he released concurrently with his halftime show performance during the Super Bowl.

However, Usher will undoubtedly take home a lifetime achievement award. He recently received official recognition as this year's achievement award recipient. The real award show is scheduled for June 30, which is precisely one month away.

Drake was the star of the complete list of nominations released earlier this month. Following the release of his new album For All the Dogs last year, the rapper received seven nominations. Next is Nicki Minaj, with six, followed by Victoria Monet, J. Cole, SZA, and Sexyy Red, with five each. See the announcement below for this year's recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award.

Earlier this month, Usher made an appearance at the MET Gala. His dazzling black suit, paired with a matching black cape and hat, caught the attention of his social media fans. With a bright red rose accessory, it adhered to the garden theme of the evening while adding a pop of color. Online, fans argued over whether the appearance was daring enough or overly so. This isn't the first time the R&B singer's unconventional wardrobe selections have generated attention on social media.
