Igembe South Assistant County Commissioner Magdalene Wesonga has called on residents to remain alert and report any suspicious activities related to drug peddling and illicit brewing.

According to KNA, Wesonga said that illegal practices have significantly undermined the social fabric and increased rates of criminal offenses.

He gave a stern warning to the perpetrators, emphasizing the government’s zero tolerance towards illicit brewing and drug trafficking.

“Our office is fully committed to eradicating this social menace at all costs, and those caught engaging in the destructive practice will face the full wrath of the law.”

Further, Wesonga pointed out the growing concern over the adverse effects of drugs and illicit brew sales.

He said the menace has been greatly associated with economic instability and cannot be tolerated.

Nevertheless, he revealed that many families’ disintegration and neglect of domestic responsibilities have been the result of addiction.

She maintained that many youths have fallen prey to addiction, thereby threatening the future of the entire community.

She called on community members to take their stand and fight the menace, which requires a concerted effort from every individual and stakeholder to protect and safeguard the future of the younger generation and the community.
