The new studio album by Megan Thee Stallion will be released on that date.

The rapper from Houston revealed that her next album, Megan, will be released on June 28 through Hot Girl Productions. While on the Hot Girl Summer tour, the 29-year-old announced to a sold-out crowd in Atlanta on Sunday night (June 2). For the benefit of those unable to attend, she also posted the cover art on social media.

Although the songs "COBRA," "Hiss," and "BOA" feature themes of snakes, the Grammy-winning artist chose an animal with a transformative quality for the artwork. The "Cocky AF" singer is shown on Megan's cover hanging upside down from a chrysalis and changing into a monarch butterfly.

In a recently published interview, the Texas Southern University graduate detailed what listeners can expect from the album.

“I don’t even know how to describe it, honestly,” she described the work to ‘L’Officiel USA as the magazine’s June 2024 cover star.

She continued explaining, “”Hiss’ was me just getting the things I had to say off my chest. I’m really not focused on the negativity on my album. I have a lot of different songs on the album because my emotion doesn’t stop at anger. My emotion doesn’t stop at sadness because I grew and started feeling more things. I started feeling really happy. So you have songs on the album about the positive times I’m starting to have. You get a little bit of everything. You get all the emotions in there.”

Megan comes after the rapper's 2022 release of his previous album, TRAUMAZINE. The album debuted at No. 4 on the Billboard 200 chart and featured Dua Lipa, Key Glock, Jhené Aiko, Rico Nasty, Latto, Lucky Daye, Pooh Shiesty, Sauce Walka, Big Pokey, and Lil Keke.

Megan Thee Stallion has been busy with Megan Mondays, a freestyle series that showcases her skills as a rapper over different beats, in addition to the releases mentioned above. She has tackled Far East Movement's "Like A G6" and Gucci Mane's "I Think I Love Her" since its return this year.
