Mustard scored the West Coast savvy track, but tells Billboard he had no clue-what-so-ever Kendrick was releasing the song -- or even crafted it to be a Drake diss. 😂

The 10 Summers executive also refuted rumors that he created the song using Nas' "Ether" beat, saying instead that he was just channeling Lil Jon and Dr. Dre's energy in the studio. The result was the number one song on the Hot 100!

Mustard further states that he created the game-changing beat in just thirty minutes, and it has since received hundreds of millions of streams!
