The Diddy scandal continued to dominate headlines in 2024, as the hip-hop mogul faced federal allegations of sex trafficking and racketeering alongside numerous civil lawsuits for other alleged crimes. Attorney Tony Buzbee, who represents many of the accusers, filed an amendment to an existing case that sent shockwaves through the hip-hop community on Sunday night, December 8. The amended complaint now includes allegations from an anonymous woman who claims Sean Combs (Diddy) and Jay-Z sexually assaulted her at an MTV VMAs after-party in 2000 when she was just 13 years old.
Diddy's legal team quickly responded, dismissing the allegations against Jay-Z as part of what they called a series of "shameless publicity stunts." Speaking to **TMZ**, they stated, "This amended complaint and the recent extortion lawsuit against Mr. Buzbee expose his barrage of lawsuits against Mr. Combs for what they are—baseless attempts at generating attention."
Originally filed in October against Diddy alone, the lawsuit’s amendment now implicates Jay-Z, further escalating the controversy. Reports also suggest that Diddy previously sued Buzbee for extortion, adding another layer of complexity to the case.
Jay-Z issued a strong response, categorically denying the allegations and criticizing the civil lawsuit as a ploy for a quick settlement. "These allegations are so heinous in nature that I implore you to file a criminal complaint, not a civil one," he said. "Whoever would commit such a crime against a minor should face real justice. If such a crime occurred, the victims deserve accountability, not publicity stunts.

This lawyer, Mr. Buzbee, appears to have a track record of theatrical tactics. I’ve seen this type of opportunism before, and I won't stand for it."
Tony Buzbee, however, has stood by his clients, reiterating his commitment to pursuing justice for the alleged victims. As this high-stakes legal battle continues to unfold, it’s clear that these allegations will remain a significant topic of discussion moving into 2025.
