Catherine Kamau, a Kenyan actress better known by her stage name Kate Actress, has described how a motorcycle accident caused her to discover she was expecting her first child at 19.

While she was a first-year student at Makerere University in Uganda, Kate noted that her upbringing had been rather regimented and that now that she was abroad, she was free to pursue all of her interests.

"My first time away from home and from a strict mother was when I was in college. I used to never go out, drink, or talk to boys, but now that I'm in a new nation, I'm able to do all three. I was shocked, but not surprised "Speaking to Universal Plus Africa, she stated

Two months after enrolling in the facility, Kate continued, she began dating and soon became pregnant.

She was unaware of the pregnancy until she was involved in a motorcycle accident once after going out with her boyfriend.

Kate described how the doctor told her about the pregnancy there, a cross she was unprepared to face. They later visited the hospital.

She recalled, "I didn't realize I was pregnant until I went out with the child's father, and we got into a motorcycle accident and had to go to the hospital.

"You're OK, the doctor stated when he emerged, and the infant is secure. I exclaimed, "What baby!" And he said, "Well, you're four months pregnant," to which I responded, "Who?" "She posed.

I realized I was pregnant even though I wasn't ready. My tummy was flat because I was a tiny child.

Due to her boyfriend's confidence and support, Kate chose to carry the pregnancy despite the stress that had shattered their relationship. Nevertheless, after the baby was born, he changed his heart.

She returned home immediately and liked having her mother out, but she couldn't keep her head in the sand for too long.

When I went home, my mother was away on a mission in South Africa, and I cherished my time there without her. Dads also hardly ever noticed me because I was constantly wearing hoodies.

Kate claims that despite being disappointed, her mother was quite encouraging as Kate started her parenting journey.

I delivered delivery, but even though my mother was disappointed, she was supportive because that made her more sympathetic.

She helped me realize that life had changed and that being a mother meant getting up earlier than 10:00 a.m. to care for the infant.

With her 16-year-old firstborn son and her 3-year-old daughter, whose father is her current husband, film producer Philip Karanja, Kate is now a mother of two.
