Chris Rock will respond in his signature on-stage fashion.

The renowned comic will address Will Smith slapping him at the Oscars during a live stand-up show.

Rock has made passing references to the incident in his stand-up routines throughout the past year, but this will be the first time he goes into more detail.

The Wall Street Journal broke the news first.

Rock and Dave Chappelle performed in an arena in Charleston in January, and during that performance, Rock worked on the material for the special. According to a witness who talked with CNN, he addressed the now-famous incident with Smith approximately a third of the way through his set while wearing only white.

Rock cracked many jokes when discussing the general fury following the Oscars event.

"The question on everyone's mind is, did it hurt? Oh my god, that hurt. He performed as Muhammad Ali! In the movie "New Jack City," I played Pookie. I'm a zebra in cartoons, and he's a f—ing shark. Rock reportedly said, "I got smacked so hard that I could hear 'Summertime' ringing in my ears.

Rock mentioned the two men's different sizes in a subsequent phrase.

Will Smith is an enormous man. I'm not, Rock declared. Will Smith often appears shirtless in his films. I'll wear a sweater if you see me in a movie undergoing open heart surgery.

A week before the 2019 Academy Oscars, "Chris Rock: Selective Outrage" will be broadcast live on Netflix on Saturday, March 4, at 10 p.m. ET from the Hippodrome Theatre in Baltimore.
