The 2023 Met Gala will happen on Monday, May 1. "Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty," this year's Costume Institute exhibition, will honour Karl Lagerfeld's whole body of work and life.

Accordingly, the dress code is "in honour of Karl." Attendees won't lack ideas as Lagerfeld created designs for numerous fashion labels, including his brand Patou, Balmain, Chloé, Fendi, and Chanel.

What will the 2023 Met Gala's theme be?

Tonight's theme is "in honour of Karl." The exhibition will feature an analysis of Karl Lagerfeld's (1933–2019) work by Andrew Bolton, Wendy Yu Curator in Charge at the Costume Institute.

Along with starting his own company, Lagerfeld worked at well-known fashion firms, including Balmain, Chloé, Fendi, and Chanel. The exhibition will feature more than 150 pieces, many of which will be accompanied by sketches by Lagerfeld.
