Some Kenyans on Twitter were unsure how to interpret a tweet from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations account due to the ongoing chaos caused by the removal of the verified badge from legacy accounts on Twitter.

Along with many other organizations, the 1.4 million-follower account lost its heritage verification badge on April 20.

On the other hand, a tweet posted on the account on Saturday at 12:23 am generated several responses.

As said in the tweet, "Arsenal inawezapea mtu heart attack."

It follows a thrilling 3-3 Premier League tie between Arsenal and Southampton on Friday.

Kenyans on Twitter (KOT) commented, "This is entirely unprofessional. Admin, stop using your account for this crap. Remain professional.

The DCI account responded to the user by saying, "Please upgrade. Football is a profession like any other."

"Enyewe hamna Cha kupost," a different KOT exclaimed. But it's permitted! Join me, and I'll join you.

Another person believed the account to be a parody.

Many media outlets need to find their verification badges.

The Elon Musk-led Twitter team also created a gold badge to replace the conventional brand verification service, which costs $1,000 (Ksh134,131) each month.
