Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua made an unexpected remark at a recent event honouring media star Muigai Wa Njoroge's 25 years in the art industry. He stated that he had cleared the way for Mugiithi singer Samidoh to play abroad after previously prohibiting him from doing so due to a public scandal.
In December 2022, Samidoh, Samuel Muchoki, was involved in a high-profile incident in Dubai. His first wife, Edday Nderitu, and their baby mama, Karen Nyamu, were seen on camera fighting during a performance where Samidoh was performing. The event generated national headlines and prompted Gachagua's original decision to bar Samidoh from travelling abroad.
Gachagua, on the other hand, now claims that Samidoh must "put his house in order," and he is free to travel and perform outside the country. Gachagua, who spoke at the event, praised Samidoh for restoring harmony and respect in his private life. "Samidoh is also our security officer," he added, "he will be allowed to go, but he ought not to disclose the white people our secrets."
While Gachagua has permitted Samidoh to perform abroad, he has warned him to be conscious of foreign traditions and customs. "When he goes out to perform in another nation, he should consider that many foreign countries dislike polygamy," Gachagua explained.

Karen Nyamu, the newly elected senator, attended the occasion. Gachagua issued a severe warning to Samidoh in January 2023, ordering him to "control your people" and restore order in his family.
Gachagua stated that Samidoh may be barred from travelling overseas if he does not comply.
Following the incident in Dubai, Nyamu expressed regret for her actions and promised to abstain from alcohol. She was also called before the UDA disciplinary committee. Nyamu declared the end of her relationship with Samidoh in a series of Instagram stories posts.
"Great and powerful women will attest that the men we get involved with are frequently our weakest link." "I'm breaking the cycle," she stated.
"I have made the deliberate decision to end my relationship with the dad of my children and now ex."
