Nigerian Burna Boy has canceled his highly anticipated South African live show due to the promoters 'inability to fulfill their contractual duties.
Burna's live concert was slated for September 23 at Johannesburg's FNB Stadium.
Burna's statement comes after Ticket Pro, a ticketing company, said on Wednesday that the highly awaited event would be rescheduled owing to a "lack of ticket" sales, among other reasons.
"We regret to announce the postponement of the highly anticipated Burna Boy concert scheduled to take place at FNB Stadium, Johannesburg on September 23, 2023," Ticket Pro said in a statement.

"The concert will now take place on December 16, 2023."
"The promoter did not make this decision lightly, and it is the result of careful consideration and assessment of various factors, including a lack of ticket sales."
However, Burna's Boy's management business, Spaceship Management, has responded to this Ticket Pro claim, citing Ternary Media Group's inability to satisfy their financial, production, and technical duties to the team.
"We regret to inform you that, despite my team's efforts, the show in Johannesburg on September 23rd will be cancelled due to the promoters' inability to meet their contractual, financial, production, and technical obligations."
“Production vendors have still not been paid and as such, it is evident at this point that the agreed production standard needed for this venue size can not be achieved," the statement said.
“We hereby state that all ticketing companies must ensure that is refunded in full.
“Deepest apologies to all fans, looking forward to seeing you all soon."
Only Phase 1 of the ticket sales had achieved capacity when the news surfaced—these range in price from R765 to R1,510. The remaining phase 2 tickets cost between R950 and R2,660.
