Esther Shanice Omwenga, a popular Kenyan model known as Shan Wanita, was laid to rest in a moving ceremony that family and friends saw. Riverside Estate Kamulu was the site of the burial.

Onesmus Omwenga Maroko and Mary Mose's late daughter Shan Wanita was born—sister of Travis Maroko and Sheila Ann Maroko.

On September 17, 2023, the 21-year-old tragically passed away after being engaged in an road accident on Mombasa Road.

On the crucial day, Shan traveled to Mombasa with her friends Muffin Mungai, Kelvin, and his young daughter. Kelvin and his daughter both perished in the disaster.

The day before her burial, her mother revealed that her daughter's body had been stolen from the mortuary earlier today.

The distraught mother told reporters that the body was sadly not there when she went to the Umash funeral home to arrange the burial.

She revealed that neither she nor Shan's siblings had seen their sister's body since passing.

The mother disclosed that the family has been working to resolve several concerns after her husband passed away.

She claimed that before she had a chance to see her daughter's body, other family members entered the funeral house and took it. The mortuary attendant refused her access to the body because she lacked the necessary documents.

Close family friend hanifa_moha254 offered a different account on Instagram, detailing why Shan's body was removed without the mother's knowledge.

"Relax, no one stole the body. It is just that the people who admitted the body signed out the body at her request. Stop painting us as evil family members and get the story. Shan is at home, and I'm wondering why all the drama. She was not there to sign in the body in the first place. We had two weeks to view the body in the morgue."

In response to another question, she continued: "The mother was not present for the postmortem or signing in the corpse when the child died. We waited for her at the mortuary until one morning, but she never showed up. Get the story first, please.

As planned, the burial took place today in Kamulu.

Please accept our condolences and pray for Shan's eternal peace.
